Then please don't go to medical school. Talk to an emergency room doctor and ask what a high profile production is all about.

I don't know, I get nervous every gig
that I'm engineering, doesn't matter how big or small it is.

Funnily enough, when I'm in muso mode, I don't get nervous at all.

Yes, and mistakes are a little more concerning than they are in a football halftime show.

Like when they replace the left knee of a patient that goes in with a bad right knee.

The only reason to be terrified would be if you didn't know your stuff.

It's not like this is a one off - they beat it to death in rehearsals until they can do the show sleeping.

This is an erroneous comparison. You've never been on a high profile show have you? Despite the face people put on...mostly everyone is under tremendous pressure to deliver perfectly. In this case the pressure is on Madonna down to the Stagehand who runs the 300 foot monitor cable out in 1.5 minutes before they go live because the stage shifted and clamped the cable twist lock feed.

As an engineer, I think I could handle running a couple of cables out to foldback in under a minute. Could do with the extra pay for sure.

Extra Pay? For running a cable?

Casual roadies for a big show get paid a shitload more than I do as an engineer. They do down here anyway.

I've done dozens of high pressure pop/rock productions, shows, video shoots, etc. The worst thing that could ever happen is someone gets unhappy.

None of them were even remotely close to the pressure of saving a life in 10 minutes. You guys need a gut check on this one.

Why Madonna still leads, others follow
