Where can I get these Rycote clips?

Hey guys,

Anyone knows what these Rycote clips are called and where could I get a pair in Europe?

I need a simple clip solution to hold an M/S pair of the new Neumann A-series (22mm) that I'm gonna try next week..

The Rycote page only shows sets, but I need the simplest possible solution (no windshield, no shockmounts, just the clips for indoor use that hold the 2 mic bodies at the smalles distance for M/S)

thanks

Any dealer selling Rycote will be able to get them for you. You can order almost any element of a basket as a spare part.
Where are you located?

These are the standard Rycote back2back clips and are available from any Rycote dealer.

They are available on their own and are very inexpensive.

Just make sure you get the latest version with the rubber inserts.

You don't say what country you are in - if you are in the UK you can just give Rycote a ring direct - they are very helpful.

Thanks guys, I've found them, I contacted Rycote and got the parts nr.

048488 - PAIR NEW UNIVERSAL B2B CLIPS

any other tipps on the setup of the KM184 a+ KM120 a in M/S?
I'm very interested in these updated KM versions, they seem to be thinner and lighter and have an even lower self-noise then the previous series.

Well, just the usual stuff like minding the exact position of the diaphragms.
If you use foam windscreens (WS 20 or similar) keep in mind that they will be squeezed together between the mics. Think about cutting off the squeezed parts.

I could really use those newer ones with the rubber inserts. But living in the U.S now so shipping would probably cost more than the clips themselves....

BHPhoto has them in stock in the US for $24 a piece. I assume these are the ones with the rubber, as they appear to have extra pieces in the corners to prevent slipping.

^ They look slightly different to the ones I saw before, which had grey rubber all along the inside.

EDIT: These ones,

Couldn't you just get a pair of the appropriate inner diameter versions of these and join them back to back...they have adhesive mounting inbuilt, so you could shave off the adhesive on one of the pair to give you closer mic-to-mic mounting: Standard Adhesive Backed Clips & Clamps
Cheapskate solution...probably a dollar or two if bought from home handyman or RadioShack type store ?

Those pictured on the B+H site are the old pre-production ones without the rubber inserts. There are just four bits of heat-shrink on them to give them some grip.

Rycote originally had a little trouble getting the rubber inserts right and let some pre-production ones go out because of the demand.

EDIT: These ones,

Yes - these are the proper production ones with the correct rubber inserts.

They will fit any microphone from 19mm to 25mm in diameter, including the square-sided Sennheiser MKH 20/300/40 series.

What a horrible idea - cheap cable clips that can scratch a mic. when the Rycote back2back clips are so cheap.

Is there a part number you know of for those ones, John? I think if I order from B&H but make a note on the order I could probably get the current ones?

048488

But it looks as if the production ones have the same number as the ones on the B+H site. Unless B+H have just forgitten to change the picture.
