Akg c47??

Anybody have any experience with this mic? I have an opportunity to pick one (or a few) up for cheap (including the HM1000). I know if its primarily a choir mic, but I was thinking due to it's small size, tight pickup pattern and wide freq response, maybe it could work well as a clip on mic for upright? I'm talking loud stage recording where getting a clear bass sound with limited soundcheck and hard hitting drummers is nearly impossible. Thoughts on this little bugger?

(there are enough threads on bass micing... I just want to hear experiences with this mic)
