Question Alesis HD24XR failover

I've got a HD24XR, and will be using its ADAT I/O.

Does anyone know what happens to the ADAT I/O if the unit fails in some manner? If something other than a power failure happens, and I've got the unit in All Input monitor mode, is there a possibility that it might not continue to pass the input to output? Or rather, what is the possibility (assuming it could happen)?

Thanks.

I have one of those units and use it all the time. Never had a failure like you describe.

haha, I am considering a purchase and was wondering the same thing, If I the converters into a DAW for safety, what is the chance of failure of the A/D? If that fails, it would mean total meltdown

I run the ADAT outs into a laptop for backup. While I haven't had a complete malfunction, I can tell you the signal is passed without even a hard drive even in the HD24XR, so I don't think there would be a problem if the HD failed or something. Except if the whole machine went up in smoke, but that's to be expected?

I think this one might be up there though...
- See post #23 - a first poster revives a thread after 11 months, to help Marshy (post#7) who posed a question 3 years previous and hasn't posted anything since a week after that.

I kind of thought the whole thread should have been ion the instruments forum, though I guess there is a Remote Possibility that Marshy is now happily sorted out with his dilemma all these years later.

and now back to our scheduled programming on the Alesis
