Working with backing tracks! Your setups, tricks!

I heard a lot of bands performing live with backing tracks and there are quite a few challenges to make that sound great.

Different engineers and/or musicians might have found interesting answers how to prepare, divide and line up the backing tracks for their live performance, to get the best result

Any experiences you want to share with us?

Backing tracks-live. Mastered or pre-mastered?

you are absolutely right! thank you for posting the link!

here it is one more time -> url to the parallel thread, where i am asking for ideas about my personal setup

the question here on this thread is much more general though.
here we are also interested on completely different setups for very different instrumentations.
i think we could learn how somebody approaches it, who is f.e. just using ableton, let's say as a remixer.
or a full band which just has additional drums or percussion running from the box.
