Advice needed for horns section recording

I'm doing a session with a horn section;

1 Alto sax
1 Soprano sax
1 Trombone
1 Trumpet

My mics are;

SM57, AT4033, ATM25, OKTAVA's MK012

I can also borrow;

U67, C414, T-Bone

Can I make a decent recording with these mics,
what general advice can you give to record horns?

Thx

Is this and R&B type thing? Have them play as a section into a LDC in omni mode in a decent room. Or you could try your 4033. Overdub if you want a larger sound.
Or, you could mic each individually. I'd use the dynamics on the trumpet and bone and LDCs on the saxes.

Thanks, that's about what I had in mind for the individual mics.
The style is rather a cross between Zappa and the Beatles..

I'm not sure the natural balance will be good enough for just 1 ldc,
so I might stick the ind. mics as well.

Is that Oktava their ribbon model? If it is, try that on the trumpet. I'm a trumpet player and I always record with my Royer ribbon if it's an individual micing situation. Good luck!

I'd mike everything individually AND use an overall. It's hard to say which would sound best until you get down to the final mix.
