Don't know why you'd assume this-- the manual clearly states the 2GB limitation. When recording 8tks simply do a stop/go before 45 minutes elapses. That's at 44.1 BTW.

In Sequoia/Samplitude the 6ch files automatically expand-- so you can pull them into the job folder from the SD reader and then choose them all (click first, hold shift, click bottom-- then import). It can't get any easier. If you also recorded to 7&8 then there is that step-- but about 4 mouseclicks and you're done.

Yes!
That is what I was thinking without the actual recorder at hand

I've been a fool Not for the last time I'm sure. I forgot to choose BWF and it defaults to 24BIT WAV. That makes perfect sense now. Thanks!
Regarding the Stereo File- that's the least of my worries. I'm using Reaper BTW so i reckon i could do better for ergonomics with a different program but i'll find a workaround for the time being.

The best utility for collapsing mono files and separating poly files is Wave Agent from Sound Devices because it's flexible, letting you make stereo files for only the tracks you want stereo. Free download.

After your reply I was thinking more along the lines of lame-ass excuses for lack of musical discipline.

I guess you are right. Tracking without the metronome can be so much quicker, but problems may occur later. I for one would always favourthe extra discipline of getting the drummer to play to one
