It's not about that, man; there are plenty of forums to trash equipment and disrespect folks... It's just not about that sort of thing here. FYI, when I started this forum nearly 9 years ago, I wanted to create a place where everyone can come to and express their opinions honestly and respectfully or just enjoy reading about all the legitimate dialog. IMHO, we have (for the most part) truthful and genuine discussions, which I believe this threads is part of. I just feel we can show some respect with a more humble approach to the vernacular. Good honest debate is a positive dynamic that should be paramount around these parts. It's a worthy goal; isn't it? We are all about integrity in our work, why can't we show it in our words even when we speak with candor? This is not a boring place. Matter of fact, it's quite the opposite and the many PMs and emails I get each and every day confirms it. Negativity is part of life and it gets addressed here plenty. I don't think I need to drop some links into this post to prove it, do I? Perhaps, you haven't detected any disrespect on here thus far, but I wanted to draw the line in the sand and state my concern. I'm comfortable with the direction you're trying to take this thread because you're saying it in the right light. I do let people speak their minds. Some folks feel I do it to a fault; there were plenty of times when I got bashed and I let those comments ride. ..And, what did tht prove? I believe I run a very fair and balanced audio blog where everyone from the newbies to the masters come together and enjoy great discussions. We are indeed within the boundaries of courteous and respectful language... It's called, "Remote Possibilities in Acoustic Music & Location Recording."

That said, IMO, we're not just about the technical aspects of recording; it's some much more! | |
