| Even if it gets superseded it doesnt mean it will be useless, fundamentally i dont see uncompressed footage being captured to a device with no moving parts being outdated for a while.. and if SSDs are too expensive now, well you just wait until they are cheaper before you buy it dont you.. isnt that obvious ?

| its good to see Sony going with SDHC, rather than restrict to just their own format(s).. The EX1 with the SDHC is great, my friend has that camera and i often take footage he has shot home on SD.. if all he had was the SxS cards i think i could still use my laptop express card slot, but the SD method makes things easier..

I don't see how the Hyperdeck from Black Magic would be outdated. As for expensive SSD's, well if you want uncompressed that's what you need and IMO it's a small price compared to the total cost of a rig. I bought a 240GB SSD to a Hyperdeck today and will buy more and bigger SSD's when prices drops. My first short tests today with the Hyperdeck indicates a very nice quality improvement compared to shooting compressed. /Peter |

As I understand the SDXC technology allows for 2TB in the near future. That would mean aprox. 8TB in a card the size of compact flash. What we need is more speed though. What's the max write/read speed for todays compact flash.. 90MB/s or so? /Peter | |

Finally got this baby in my hand! Not yet test it yet, but it does feel very Sound Devices. Seems no 96KHz sampling, audio embeded in the video file only. |

First test run PIX240. Wish future firmware features: 1. Audio tracks, since SDI allows 8 tracks. Why not keep 4 from SDI and let PIX240 insert the rest 4? 2. Audio format, seems only 48/24. How about seperate audio file for 96/24? |
