I can stand precious little classical music anymore, but I love Arvo!!

We are very fortunate to live in the same time as this blessed man.

Our choir is currently rehearsing three Pärt pieces. Pure bliss.

When I was an audio eng student, I participated in the AES recording competition with a recording of his St John Passion in the surround cathegory. That was fun.

I have 10+ more of his CDs. Pert is respected by many contemporary composers and experimental musicians.

I went to see the Estonian Philarmonic Choir perform Kanon Pokajanen by Arvo Part a few weeks ago. One of the best musical experiences I've ever had.

Part's music is incredible.

Nice to see the man at work, noone makes a sound, just absorbing the words of the humble composer.

We sung "...which was the son of" by Pärt in my choir and at first we didn't get it at all, very odd piece. As the piece unfolded it grew onto us and it's still today one of my favourite pieces to sing. My hat's off to the man.

Arvo Part's Music is so beautiful!! His Missa Sillabica for voices and string quartet is mind blowing both in music and sonic texture. Really cool instrumentation.

Genius indeed!

I love Pärt! I just purchased this: ECM

Did you know that he used to be recording engineer?
