Talking new Sennheiser, made in Germany with Chinese price

Sennheiser MK4 condensor mic: Sennheiser MK4 Condenser Microphone | BSWUSA.com
Has anyone around here had cause to try this mic yet....seems priced low enough to give the Chinese equivalents a run for their money, and who wouldn't rather employ a Sennheiser/Neumann than the oriental equivalent, all else being equal (which it almost never is) ?

It seems like a nice microphone. Warm but neutral. Very Sennheiser.

The equivalent noise level of the MK 4 is 10dBA

The Neumann U 87Ai is 12-15dBA (depending on pattern)

To put it in perspective.

Dumb question - is there a way of correlating these two methods of measuring quietness? Some manufacturers use one, some another...

Thanks in advance....and yes, it DOES look like a nice mic.....

And the TLM 103's equivalent noise level is just 7dBA (one of the quietest).

SNR = 87 dB or Noise level = 7 dB is the same statement because
SNR = 94 - Noise level.

AKG C414 has 9 directivities, 6 dBA self-noise and is less expensive than the TLM103. is it a better mic ?

Whatever the noise level is. I think it is welcome competition to the Shure ksm32's and AT 4040's. All very nice sounding cardioid mics at reasonable prices.

A multi-pattern option would be nice though. Kind of limits its field use.
