I saw Ozzy in Houston a few weeks ago and Slash opened up. He performed sweet child. Fergi does a better job than Axel! Although the guy Slash had on tour did a better axel than axel too.

OK, now I'm confused. I guess this is just a "kitchen sink" halftime show. But at least they got the backing track back to a workable level.

Slash??....LOL
the only thing going on there was all the lights....
but then again we could probably solve world hunger instead of this hyped carry on nonsense!
strictly IMHO...

I don't know much about how things like this are done but the mix coming over my system was not great. Seems like the vocals were dry and unconnected to the backing tracks. The backing tracks were not loud enough. Slash must have felt out of place.

Are they ever any good? I've never seen a good video of them...and whilst they've had a lot of hits (and the occasional catchy melody), these days they seem to sell because they're BEP, not because they have any material. I think their days are numbered...or they get in some new writers.

PS maybe a "good place"to post this moan would be the moan zone - isn't that what it's there for?!

No, that's not correct. There were lots of shiny objects, and some rap, and some rock, and an oldies hit, and some inspirational stuff. There was something for everyone. I think the committee that assembled the show did a fine job.

...Prince performing in the rain still puts all this technology to shame...BEP are music for the fast-food culture...soul-less, shallow and autotuned...

Yes the sound sucked, yes there was very little creativity involved, yes the music itself is about as technically limited as music gets, and yes - even though their musci basically is monotone - they still managed to be out-of-tune with each other...

But they had a bunch of people with suits that lighted up in different colors - and even more that danced with boxes on their heads - What do you want from a half time shoe for Gods sake!?!

Especially ridiculous when they're singing "boom, boom, boom", an anthem, for whatever reason, to the 808 kick, and the backing tracks are scarcely audible.

How can they do all this with a straight face?

I could not have said it better, and to add to that...the guitar tone was amazing.

Couldn't even get her mic going for her when it was her turn!
Must have been a wireless security interruption....
Funny stuff.....I'm always unimpressed with those guys anyway...not my cup of tea, but then none of that stuff strikes me as music so there I said it!

Wow that mix sounded really bad. Not sure how the mix makes it to us here at home but whoever has that job needs a new one.

No, I think their performance was the epitome of "so much gear, so little time", or tune, or taste, or proficiency.
