I would LOVE for Guns & Roses to do the half time show! But we need to mix it up and represent a wide range ov American (U.S.) culture. So maybe next time...

For your information...

Quite a few production trucks were in use at this event...
Super Bowl XLV: The Gear Behind the Game - 2011-02-04 21:32:41 | Broadcasting & Cable

I found a blog discussing this event; check out post #166...
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...php?p=19981292

And, post #115...
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...3#post19966383

NEP's Denali Silver truck handled the halftime Black Eyed Peas portion.

That being said, I have worked on that truck for a Brian Seltzer Christmas Special awhile back which turned into a DVD and CD.

I must say, Denali Silver is a pretty awesome, seriously maintained truck and the crew is second to none.
This is why NEP's Denali trucks are the first call for many of the major entertainment dates.

Pete and Tim were so "on the money!"
A great bunch of guys to work with; they took care of us (me) every step of the way.
This type of care and service made my life in TV audio feel like a dream!

I highly recommend the Denali Silver & Gold truck operations!

hahahaha

Yeah man, give them some credit

No, but really, this is 'orrible in every sense of the word and it shows the really sad state of popular culture.

P.S. I hope that comet hits us before they release another album

That would be Myles Kennedy...He's amazing.

hahaha... i'm sure that would go well, considering how axel's performances always go without a hitch...

what you need to do is tell Axl he is opening the show when you really have him booked to do half time.. so once he decides to awaken from his nap he might be on time.

the other alternative is show him the BEP performance and tell him if he's running late they are going to use the same engineer..

Reminds me of when Chrissie Hynde found out that Rush Limbaugh was using her "My City Was Gone" main riff as the show's signature soundtrack. When the initial license ran out, she proclaimed she would NOT allow "someone like him" to use her music and fought the license renewal request... so he began a listener-input-requested search for a new theme song.

Then her accountants... lawyers... banker... whoever... realized how much dough her "principled" position would cost (this was 10 years into his now 22-year nationally syndicated run) and, somehow, her hardened position softened. No idea what the deal was... but he's still heard on over 600 stations, 5 days a week, and that tune leads off each hour. I daresay it's the most recognizable radio theme in the history of the medium.

Good on both of them. Him for holding (and growing) an audience for two decades... her for realizing which side the bread was buttered upon.

The deal was that Rush has to write a big fat check each year payable to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
