Yeah, I know that guy and I can confirm he's "crazy" about his work! I understand that he also brought one of his trucks to that school and spent an afternoon talked about his craft... I don't know about "legendary" status but, he's worked with some legendary folks. Did he look like this guy?

Dude Steve... Every time I see a picture of one of your rigs, I can't help but think that anybody that has that much gear is just wrong (but in such a right way..)... God what a beautiful sight. thumbsup |

I work with Steve and we're at the Blue Note recording Kenny Werner as I write this post... I remember him telling me about the few times he and his crew went to Nassau Community College with "Jethro." I believe he said, the professor's name was Mr. Kevin Kelly. |

| There can be ONLY ONE!
There is only one Steve Remote; Moderator and friend! He is a humble, warm, kind man with a great personality. He is giving of his craft and loves what he does with a passion that goes and goes. He is a total gear slut. Three mobile trucks. THREE. That's like three Sony Studios, three Power Stations, three Hit Factorys. Every point is thought thru a dozen times and perfected. He rips things apart and rebuild them better. He uses the best solder with the best cable to the best connectors. He pushes the envelope constantly! Go to his field shop...you think the man has gear? You haven't seen a thing. He's got more gear than I can dream of. Go past rows of 80 rolling shock racks (all full with great stuff) and you go to ANOTHER row. And ANOTHER. Read the labels...and drool. See the consoles...the analog and digital recorders.. the outboard...the vintage....the classic... it's all there. I own like 44 channels of outboard mic preamps, Steve must have a couple of hundred. I can record 48 tracks with backups if I use everything, Steve can record 192 tracks with redundance backups in six formats at the same time without looking at his B or C record racks. You think that picture is hot? Dude...he is showing you the pair of eights while he holds pocket jacks, queens, kings and aces. I'm not bragging, I'm telling ya what I know. And I know that I'm lucky to know the dude. Jim van Bergen |

One thing about Steve that I have always admired, which I think is the ultimate quality in a live guy, no matter how bad the scene, no matter what burst into flames, no matter how insane the client or the circumstance, Steve will make it happen and sound great. |
