Okay, now that you mention the Outlaws, that was the other band that appeared with Nugent (along with Scorpions and Blackfoot)

2 from the late 60s/early 70s - Laura Nyro opening for Bloodrock - the pa was damaged by the barrage of wine bottles etc. Laura had to leave the stage, and the raging crowd had to wait while the pa was repaired. and.. James Taylor (maybe his 1st tour?) sandwiched between the James Gang and the Who. 17,000 people in a huge Cleveland venue to cheer the local boys made good and rock to the Who. After Joe and the boys tore up their set, this poor dude with an acoustic guitar and a stool comes out and starts telling stories about his new pair of boots. He didn't last long. |
