Exclamation Please VOTE, I am a Finalist in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, Crowley & Tripp NER

Dear Fellow Gearslutz,

I recently recorded my audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011 with my Crowley & Tripp Naked Eye Roswellites and a SD702, the camera was a Canon Vixia HF-S100

The end result is that I have been chosen as a Finalist for the 2011 Symphony Orchestra. This Orchestra is chosen by Video audition from applicants all over the world and will play a concert at the famed Sidney Opera House in Australia under Conductor Michael Tilson Thomas this coming March.

The next phase of this audition is by Public Vote from Now till December 17,

Please Vote if you like what you hear......

The link is:

Marco Granados' Finals for YouTube Symphony Orchestra 2011

Thank you so much,
Peace
Marco Granados

Thank you so much Steve. I really appreciate it. I wish they didn't put this competitions up to the popular vote because it becomes more about Internet marketing rather than judging by the quality of the content.

Thanks
Peace
Marco

Come on, you are Sunflute; you will win this for both quality of performance and quantity of votes;-)

Everyone on the board should vote for the exact reasons I addressed...

I'm now going to 'twit this' thread, so everyone can check out your wonderful performance!

Thanks again Steve,

But don't forget quality of recording!

No One Else Bothered to even actually add an external mic to their camcorders.

I think this audition points the way of where things are going recording wise.
Probably more and more remote recordists are going to be expected to do Video and Post Edit audio and video together for Web Viewing.

What do you think?

No, I noticed the difference in the audio quality straight up and it was confirmed once I heard some of the other selections.

Well done my man, well done indeed!

Did you ever study with Galway? You seem to have similar Mozart approaches.

Thank you for your vote. Yes, in the 90's I had the opportunity to study privately with Sir James (then Jimmy Galway) for a week or two at the Aspen Music Festival. But better than studying with him was the opportunity I had to hear him practice while I did a couple chores for him during that time.

Thanks again for the votes and please keep them coming!

That space is Pickman Hall at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA where I teach flute and chamber music.

Thanks for the Vote!

Wonder if you were at Aspen with my wife? Cute brunette who played Eb clarinet next to Ted Oyen of the Detroit symphony.

Thank You for all the votes, I didn't play in the Orchestra at the time. I went there to visit a friend and met Galway after his concert where he played a Mercadante Concerto I believe. So I don't think I met your wife then.
