Talking IEC power cables

Is there a way to lock these little bugers so they can't come out.
If not what is everyone doing, tape, pushing them in at the job site.

Use a small piece of cardboard (or plastic) as a shim. insert it when connecting the IEC cord to the device.

A drop of rubber glue also works well. But, don't over do it -- A little drop will work just fine.

They also make Locking IEC cables -- Some Sony products have these cords...

A slim or rubber glue is a lot cheaper and works -- Why not save the bread.

I've never had one come out, keyboards have been the only problem, everything else is in racks and protected from casual extraction, otherwise I strap everything down with velcro tyloks. I have Neutrik PowerCon for everything that needs to be locked.

word to the powercon. the PA company I freelance for has all their drive and amp racks wired up with IEC to a powerboard to powercon on a rack plate on the back. SO easy to set up, and you know you're power's not going to pull out if someones chasing a lead through there. plus the back of the racks are SO neat. This is probably normal in the states, but here the PA business can be pretty backwards. Lots of "old rocker" sound guys around.

At the bottom of the page is a retainer clip for IEC power plugs. Check out the sizes, but you should be able to find something that works.

A little OT, but the original post title fits.

My OB rack is full of Aphex, Empirical Labs and other stuff that have IEC power jacks on the back (computer monitor type connectors). Instead of having a separate power cable for each device does anyone know of a molded, pre-made pigtail cord with several female IEC connectors to one cable male plug?

I've searched Google and found the 3 pin IEC connectors. Maybe I'll make my own.

they do exist but the only ones ive seen have long pig tales. not realy suited for racks more suited for a pair of powered stage monitors or something with a bit of spread. check in stores, its not the sort of thing ive seen advertised.
personally the best thing ive found in a rack is an IEC rack mount power board with very short cables to each device then a single power cable comming out of the rack. keeping your racks neat always helps aswell.
apart from the odd thing in transit ive never had IEC cables fall out, tape any cables that are likely to get pulled and have enough slack for them.

I use Marinco IEC connectors. They're really heavy duty and have a good grip.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided I'm going to construct my own.
