| Mindreader | Portable speaker setup For the man about world, what is the best truly portable monitor setup? Jules was telling me about something that someone had told HIM about the other day, namely a kind of pair of speakers in a suitcase affair, whereby the two monitors came out of the case connected by leads, the main case acted as amp and subwoofer and apparently sounded excellent... Anyone now what that is? |

| Hey Bev, There's the Cambridge SoundWorks Model 12 . I haven't heard this system myself but they've got a pretty good reputation on this side of the pond. Jon |

| Thats the one Bev! It sounded HUGE in a big NYC loft, and my chum who uses it has a $40,000 stereo set up in his country house... And while not in Pro Audio is very SERIOUS about his music! | wow that looks awesome. i am looking for something EXACTLY like that! i didn't know it existed. jules, you have heard it yes? do you think you could actaully mix on these things? i know you are spoiled with your adams, but i am using my home stereo in my living room as my monitors now, and needless to say the wife gets pissed off that she can't watch tv at night while i'm working... i've been thinking of a portable setup i can use in my den and that i can take with me when i head out to record. anyway in a pinch do you think they are up to snuff for budget concious small timers like me, or should i look elsewhere....some alesis monitor ones or something..... behringer truths... (ouch). |

| They've got a retail store in the mall near me. I can try to get there this weekend and check it out. If they have one in stock of course. I could use a little gear outing. Jon |
