Question Mobile Rig ??

What would be a good Mobile Rig for around 2000$ ???

I would love to usw PT, but don´t have to. Quality comes first.

2000$ I can spend on interfaces and mics... I also have 2000$ to spend on a laptop if I have to... Then Only a MAc comes in question...

Any comments ??

When you say protable. is it portable recording only, or mixing as well?

Portable Recording... I would like to Mix at home on my G5....

It´s mainly for r recording rehearsals from my band. Maybe for some overdubing. let´s say.. 2 mics on drums then Bas then guitar and vocals... Don´t really need that many inputs.. I guess 4 would be more than enough...

If 4 mic inputs is enough, the Motu Traveller would work.

But if you want to be totally styling, you could get the M-Audio Project I/O:
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...ixIO-main.html

This would give you the ability to run Pro-Tools M-Powered or any other sofwtare package you like.

And it's not too expensive.

Edirol r-4(4 channels), a pair of ADK Hamburg, and a pair of studio projects c4s..

no computer interface required..(cept to Upload the recordings afterwards)

www.oade.com sells the r-4 and will also be offering amp stage and electronics upgrades to it...Id reccomend it. Can run off DC power as well.

I would like to keep the setup as small as possible, but still be able to do overdubs....

Is M-powerd the exact same as PTLE or are there some differences ??

AFAIK, for music, there are no differences. You just don't have access to the FV toolkit, for audio post.
