I only learned about the GSR24 a fortnight ago and decided to never spend a a dollar more than i needed to outside of rent and food until it was mine...
I still like the look of the AH but i think i'd better work fast if these things are going to be flooding the market before too long!
On-board recorder for uncompressed WAV files on USB flash drive
Interesting... but flash drive not hard drive??
WAV would fill up even a 10Gig stick pretty quickly.
There's an optional FW out card, though.
What if, for $300 more, you chained it to a netbook running reaper with a fat HD attached?
And automated faders, right? I wonder if they're as noisy as the ones on their DAW control surface-thingy. Still for live work, who cares... if it's reliable.
im excited about dynamics control on each channel, i think that's what the GSR24 and other mid sized consoles are missing, and i really dont understand why companies are not adding that feature.
It seems the QC will be much higher on this console than on the general Behringer catalog. Sounds like they're looking into upping the ante quality wise.
I'm dying to hear some user feedback on this thing... release when?
Wonder how good it actually is, or if it will be a hodgepodge of some good features, and real junk... I mean, this is no $50 DI box, if it goes down, you will have to pay to service it. If Uli B. is upping their quality control, they have a lot of ground to make up first...
Berhinger has improved their mic pre's, effects, and converters since they stopped making the DDX which I really enjoyed having in my home studio. If they have improved things by 40% on this new unit, it could be a real winner for the home/project studio owner. I never liked the Yamaha 01V96 with those lame faders. Everything was so squashed together on that unit and even the improved DM 1000. Yes I know the Behringer won't be a good as the DM 1000 but the work flow will be better and they cannot be overlooked, plus it's thousands cheaper for us home studio guys.
Well, here's the first video I've found of the mixer and it's giving me GAS BIG TIME ! This thing is very well thought out and if it sounds good and is reliable, it's going to sell like hot cakes ! The support for multi track hard-drive recording alone is awesome !
This definitely looks like a monitoring console/backup recorder budget possibility! The next night it could run FOH and/or monitors too... for $2500....
Excuse me while I go get a bucket to drool in!

dirt cheap ... i don't remember exactly (watch the clip from sonic state it's in there) but it was something like 249 for the main unit and 199 for each personal mixer. unbelievable, no?
If the QC is good on that thing, it's going to be a killer setup for the price ! I didn't see any ADAT/Spdif/AES-EBU/Wordclock though... That's OK really as I already have them on my main interface where I'll be sending 8 analog busses from the X32 if I get it... But just in case, it could prove useful.
I'm not too worried about that. The DDX sounded pretty darn good already. Not any worse than a 01V at least, and this one seems to be taking the concept quite a few steps higher...
The will be an expansion card for it, I hope it will have ADAT... I'd be a happy camper if it does.
