Question Solist mic's Last night of the proms

Watching Last night of the proms 2010 at TV now and can't help to wonder if the twin solist spot mic's used are Schoeps or Sennheisers on those stylish thin stands?

Hi!
I still havn´t seen it but it is on my video harddrive. I would belive that BBC used Shoeps mics for solos but i could be AKG as well. I know that Shoeps are popular for classical recordings among broadcasters here in Europe.

PS i´m glad that SVT broadcasted more than the usual 1 hour edit of the consert. I hope to have the time to watch it this coming week.

Many of the mic's used at the proms are DPA's. They make a Flamingo stand that looks a lot like the Schoeps.

It certainly looked like MK4 or MKH8040. Are you saying that DPA (and AKG) makes capsules that close in looks to Schoeps and Sennheiser?

I so want to buy those thin stands/extension tubes for my MKH set but the price is a bit to steep for me at this point.

I too think it is an MK4 or MKH8040. It is definitely not a DPA. I have those and they have a flexible gooseneck at the top to tilt the mike not a knuckle joint.

Hi!
Well it could as well be a shoeps mic. Any BBC sound people on this site that have the facts?
