Comments on my newest effort?

Hey all,

Over the last few years, with the help of the community here, I've been recording several chamber concerts a year. I wanted to offer up a sample of my latest and see what y'all think....it's a Bach Oboe Concerto performed in a small-to-medium sized church.

I used an NOS pair of SDCs about 15.5 feet back from the first row of the orchestra, and a bit over 9 feet off the house floor (about 7 feet above stage level).

Many thanks for all the help to date, and for any comments or suggestions on this!

Thanks for the encouraging words! I was pretty happy with how this came out, and it's gratifying that other folks think it's listenable too.

I've tried four or five different mic placements in this particular church, and the one used for this recording seems like the best balance so far, although if brass were involved I might move a little further back.

RP, the mics are kind of odd ducks - Toa KYs from the early 90s. Toa tried selling a line of $600-700 mics, but didn't do well and ended up blowing them out through one of the mail-order places for about $120 each, which is how I got my pair. They've been my go-to SDCs ever since, and seem especially happy recording string ensembles.

Why posting a 64k mp3 sample ? It's only 1,5Mo. You would have post a 220k mp3.
I don't know if this will modify the bass sound which is not very natural here.
