| I hope someone can help me. I'm proposing a recording chain of DAV BG1 mic pre linked to a Mytek Stereo96 ADC but after that I need to get the AES or S/PDIF into a laptop. I'm happy with the idea of an RME Multiface with Cardbus interface from a stability point of view, but I'm not sure if all the ADC gains made in the Mytek are going to get carried through. The Mytek has a 10 pico second jitter spec, (whilst the RME ADC is 1 nano second), but even the S/PDIF spec on the RME is only 1-3 nano seconds. Will this undo the high jitter spec of the Mytek, or is that not something to worry about? And if it is, what alternative digital inputs for a laptop are there with suitably high jitter spec? Thanks for any suggestions. Dominic |
