Exclamation Engineer needed - Angouleme France

A client of mine will be performing in Angouleme, France on October 10th, 2010.

It's a 3-city live recording. I'll be doing the NYC event and then mixing and mastering the final disc made up of selections from the 3 concerts.

It's 2x pianos improvisation and needs to be multi-track.

Any recommendations for someone who has acoustic location experience near there?

Thanks,
Silas

I am ready to do this at a moment's notice. I am fluent in French and have the gear ready to go. However, I would have to fly there from Muscle Shoals, AL where I will be making a production.

Do they serve grits in that French town? After Muscle Shoals I'd have to have grits.

Forget the wine. Be prepared for cognac.

Impossible to work after a shot or two of Calvados - or walk for that matter.

Une Calva, deux fois; c'est ne pas trop mal. ;o) Bon marche et deliceux. A good Calva has the aroma of the orchard in it, a message from deep in the bowels of the earth up through the tree through the blossom into the apple. The odor itself is intoxicating. Sturdy and unassuming; truly Norman. But I am prejudiced. LOL

What a damned hijack this is.

I'm quite close - only 768 Km.
If you cannot find anyone closer, I'm quite free in october, I was planning to finish my studio build ...
(We are located near Brussels, so French, Dutch and English or just fine)

You can contact me through pm, or email.

How will you get a more or less compatible sound between the three dates ?

Thanks to all for the messages, offers, and multi-lingual bumps

Hudson - didn't know you spoke French. If my client could afford to fly you over....he'd be flying me over instead Just kidding around. I hope all is well.

Yannick - I'll forward your info to my client. I've given him a simple recording rider with requests as to how it should be approached. I'm not too concerned about it sounding perfectly uniform as the whole project is being presented as 'Live in 3 cities' etc. Although I want it to be multi-track with 2 mics on each piano - preferably high-quality omnis.

Thanks again,
S

I don't have 4 identical high-quality omnis, but I do have 4 MKH800 twins .

I probably wouldn't put 4 ribbon mics then

It really sounds like a cool project. Of course I was just razzing you, Silas although, yes, I do speak French.

I bet you'll find someone good and it will sound incredibly French.

best from Chicago,

HudSonic
