Talking Remote recorded film score

The score to "Louis: a Silent Film" was recorded at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Westchester NY.

Louis the movie

Delfeayo Marsalis: Producer
Ed Cherney: Engineer
Scott Steiner: Music editor
Remote Recording Services provided the truck. I would have recommended Steve Remote but Cherney has been working with RRS for years.

Instrumentation:
4 reeds, each with Mojave Audio MA-200 Large-Diaphragm Tube Condenser
2 trumpets & 2 trombones, each with Royer 122V valve/ribbon mic.
Jazz piano & classical piano, bass, drums and percussion.

Classical piano is mic'ed with 2 AKG C12.

There was an x/y pair of M49 in the house with M50 outriggers on each side. Some other junk in the balcony but I didn't get a good look.

Coles 4038 over the drums.

Fet 47 on bass

Oh yeah, the whole thing was recorded to analogue! 2 Studers with PT backup.

Ask the old-timers. It's something we used to call "tape".
