Thread Starter | SONOSAX SX-M32 1.- Anyone tried it? 2.- Is this an alternative to the Nagra LB? (For example, Sonosax has three XLR inputs while Nagra has two, but Nagra has USB while Sonosax doesn't...). Thanks. Last edited by Bechstein; 4th September 2010 at 04:49 PM.. Sonosax and Nagra both have great reputation. The Sonosax is no recorder - the Nagra is. The Nagra is no mixer - the Sonosax is. What do you really need? -jon

This Sonosax is made for tv news interviews. It is not a music mixer. Sonosax makes other excellent music mixers, some of them running on batteries. What do you want to know?

The SX M32 is a small mixer. No recorder. If you want a recorder from Sonosax, try the SX R4. Eight tracks digital recorder, about the size of the Nagra LB. Four excellent mic preamps. Great small pro recorder. I use it for documentary films, but recorded some music with it and the result was stunning (two DPA 4060 directly in the SX R4.) |

Thank you all for the replies. A few days ago I called Nagra dealers here in Spain to ask them if I could use the Nagra LB as a digital preamp to record in real time straight to Pro Tools via Digi 003, as I posted HERE and this morning they've called me to tell me that it is posiible, but apparently they had no properly understand what I needed and they suggested me the SX-M32 as "an easier way to bypass", so I assumed that it was a recorder aswell. I apologize. PS: I swear I've read the SX's manual before posting... Last edited by Bechstein; 4th September 2010 at 06:32 PM.. Reason: PS added |

Is this a good deal, or is it better to buy a cranesong spider? Is this Sonosax SX S10 "the" mixing desk? I use a Soundfield SPS 422, and will buy AEA ribbons , and Schoeps. I 'd record stereo into Korg MR 1000 @ 5.6MHz Last edited by monitor; 1st February 2012 at 10:34 PM.. Reason: adding info | |

I have an SX6 mixer and before an SX8 which went round the world with me many times. They are magnificent ,DC powerable with great CH limits and best eq Bullet proof and have 85 dB of sensible gain, sufficient for pesky ribbons. 3K euro is ok if it is clean and with noise free pots. |

this Sonosax is not working properly, there is too much noise, hum, and the left master fader suddently making a false contact when put to zero db. |

could be but, to me it seems that the Sound Devices and Zaxcom machines that I rented a coupple of times where in far better condition. I'm going to save money for a Cranesong Spider. |
