I want to know which entry level stereo mics would be nice for recording a club performance using my mbox2. Second, I wish to know which mid-range (200-600 usd) level mics would be really sweet into the mbox2 for live club recordings. I really don't know if I should use a dynamic, ribbon etc, too. ANY knowledge in this area, specifically with the impedances with the mbox2 (and possibly for future use with better mic pres) will be appreciated. Seasons Greetings Sincerely I don't want the tiny stereo sony 79 usd mic.... e unless of course it is a great find

Try one microphone, and use the other channel to get a feed from the board. Any reasonably flat cardiod condenser should do, so I would look for a microphone that you want for other purposes. |

I think you need to decide what stereo mic technique you want to try - XY, M/S, Blumlein pair, AB, ORTF, NOS, etc. and then search the forums for other people's experience and mic recommendations. Or do you want to buy ONE stereo mike - i.e. two capsules in one body? That narrows the field considerably.
