| Lives for gear | RIP Mitch Miller
Wow, I did a couple of orchestra dates with Mitch in the late 80's, when he was already an old man! RIP Mitch... |

To my ears, the reverb and depth presented on the recording of "Holiday Sing Along With Mitch" has always served as a guidepost for sweet analog goodness and richness. Also a great reference for incredibly 'up' sounding music and arrangement. Those guys sound like they were positively bursting with smiles and holiday cheer. Manufactured? Maybe--still always puts me in the mood to do Christmas stuff, though. One time in the 8th grade, my youth group rode the ferry to the next town over in SE Alaska. I had my JVC boombox and the Mitch holiday cassette. We sang along with Mitch and entertained (horrified?) passengers on the four hour ride over to Petersburg and subsequent four hour ride back to Wrangell around Christmas in 1985. ho ho ho. RIP Mitch Miller. Walter
