Probably cheaper in the long run than your suggestion that users contact Nagra employees personally. And certainly more effective--most users wouldn't think to do the latter.

It's beautiful and I want one!

But it's £1,000 more than the normal version.

I can't afford it :-(

Just buy the front as a spare part, not hard to bolt it in.

If the bundled it with an all aluminum accessory mixing controller, I'd buy it. (nag)

Not sure, ask Nagra, but don't expect any change from $2,000 to change it over.

I understand the manufacturing cost of the panel is about £1,000 (that's about $1,600).

The original panel is moulded, to then cut that shape out of solid aluminium is very expensive.

I *love* the aluminium panel, but I'm not changing mine over. I'm just praying I win the lottery so I can buy a second Nagra VI ;-)

Folks,
I have inquired to the Nagra factory, and the aluminum faceplate of the 60th Anniversary Nagra will NOT be made available. Reason: since this is a Limited Edition of 60 units, they want all 60th units to be born and stay that way.
(besides, the 4 gain pots on the front panel are of a completely different model since the aluminum knobs required a different shaft length).
Hope this clarifies the situation.

But its not the "pimp machine."

As far as new releases with the NVI, please stand by. There is a new crop of releases (including an LP) that will be out over the next 6 months. Most of my well known stuff was done prior to working with the NVI.
