Talking After the show...Edirol R4 - Splitting 4 chnl .WAV file??

Hey Remotesters...

Worked a festival this weekend where I was soundguy....and monitors, and watching a multitrack, matrix and board feed backup most of the weekend too...whew! kept me on my toes, it rained so hard at one point we had to shut everything down, spent a half hour drying out microphones and monitors, dumping out the one monitor amp(tarp dumped on it) and sun-drying it the next day(worked fine!)

For the related bit, multitrack was an HD24, matrix was an R4, backup to a little zoom thingie - I borrowed the Edirol R4 from my old job and set it up with a simple Rode NT4 and a board feed - the promoter is a good friend and I was mostly doing him a favour by grabbing a quick board/mic feed of the show....which eclipsed into doing sound most of the weekend and keeping the other recorders(bands brought 'em) running...no big deal it was all at my fingertips...

But this is all superfluous info - just got the tracks transferred and lo-and-behold, the one thing I was in charge of i'm stumped on - I apparently didn't set the R4 to 'mono x4' mode for files, and it saved everything as 4 channel wav.....24 bit/48k. I found some old file splitters but they only did 16bit....anyone out there know of one I can use? a google search turned up nothing, lots of 5.1 splitters for DVD ripping but that was really it....

Thanks!

Hmm only had vegas on the editing computer and it wouldn't do it...but good to know it's a common feature in other DAW's.

A friend send me this link which is pretty handy for batch conversions etc...

awesome thanks guys - the software link above is a Fostex program - worked great. Setup alll the files for a batch conversion to 4 channel wav's, went and had a beer, came back and they were done!

Thanks for the offer Ted-

Hi guys, it looks like Sound Devices program only does up to 12 channels, and I happen to have a 26 channel WAV from a pyramix session...

Not sure I feel like paying $79 just to get snapper, are there any other programs that might do it?
