Question Weather proof Cable access door?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any info on a a cable access door that I could install on my new van.
Something simple.
I guess it should be weather proof, and something that I can install myself.
(got the sawzall all ready!)

Did a quick search and found the Big Roll up door that Steve used on one of his trucks, but that's way too much for my application.

Probably 8 x 8 would be more then enough room.
Only need to pass one 16 channel snake, and a power cable through it.
(maybe a video line?)

I would put a multipin connector(s) into a small electrical cupboard.

8" X 8" seems way to big of a hole for running cables.
IMO, the access (mouse) hole should not be much larger than your largest connector and cables combined.

We've been using these access doors (see photos) for decades.
They are the same doors that you would find on fire, police and emergency trucks.
They come in a couple of sizes. We have both sizes, but mostly use the smaller sized doors.
On Elroy, we installed a nice rubber flap on the inside of each access door.

Here are a few pictures for your review.

The company that makes these seriously expensive access doors is called Cast Products.

And looks like a little pet dog could find its way in and out, too....

Hey Steve, by chance do you know what model it was you have?
(The smaller one)
They've got a hundred different versions listed on their site.
If not, no biggie....

I have it written down in my book at the shop.
I plan to order a few of them for Cosmo.
Would you like me to order you one?
Also, do you want the locking version?
In any event, I can have the model number for you later today.
