As I'm involved as an independent consultant, I thought I would post this for those in the UK.

RYCOTE OPEN DAY, JUNE 10th 2010

Rycote is opening the doors of its factory on Thursday, 10th of June, from 10AM to 3PM.

Visit us in Stroud, Gloucestershire, for an exclusive tour of the Rycote Factory and a chance to win £100 of Rycote products in our prize draw!

Further to the success and great feedback received from our first Open Day in January, we have decided to offer everyone another chance to find out more about our products.

Staff will be on hand all day to dispense invaluable advice, share their expertise on the products and assist with queries.

Also joining us for the day to answer any of your technical questions is our panel of experts:

• Chris Woolf, Rycote's Technical Consultant for all things audio since 1997

• Hugh Robjohns, Technical Editor of Sound On Sound magazine, following a 15-year audio career with the BBC. Hugh also provides specialist technical training for the BBC and many other international broadcasters

• John Willett, Circle Sound Services - independent consultant, microphone expert, and location classical music recordist

• Tim Henson, Rycote's mechanical designer for all products since 2005

• Phil Tims, Rycote Chief Engineer

Factory tours will be held during the day, offering visitors a chance to further explore behind the scenes at the Rycote factory and learn lots more about the way Rycote products are manufactured.

Customers will also be able to try out the products in a specially set up demo area, and experience first-hand the excellent performance of Rycote's world-renowned windshields and suspensions!

Half-price seconds as well as an additional 10 % discount on retail prices will also be available for products purchased on the day.

I have just found out that Chris Woolf will be demonstrating the new Schoeps Super CMIT microphone on behalf of Schoeps at the Rycote Open Day on Thursday.

This should be a pretty interesting demo / review of the mic and an exclusive chance to experience the performance of the mic first hand!
