Meaning, if I wanted to patch one DS800 output to the mixer to bypass the recorder and the other to the HD24XR it's a quick patch.

Or, I may want to patch any of the DS800 outputs to the recorders or any combination is a simple plug in and patch scenario.

In another situation, I may want to feed a PA system or other rig or OB unit plus my rig and it's just a quick patch and away we go.

Cross patching the line mixer inputs is also a simple task and completely flexible since I can patch all 48 tracks one to one or stack selected individual (or stereo) tracks onto one (A/B) fader channel per stack if I want. IE: Bass GTR/Bass AMP; Stereo Overheads; Snare TOP/Snare BOT; Keys L&R; PNO HI/LO; et cetera, etc.

I'm thinking of wiring more of my other (SKB cased) M480 line mixers with a TRS patchbay to make our lives easier on location, but I got too many other projects to complete before I get to that one...

Perhaps, it could be done this coming spring; you never know;-)

I am currently working on a 48 chan festival multi core system with a rack at each end.

The stage box is 48 XLR in with 2 way passive split (mon foh) into Edacs, 1 Edac in from the FOH returns with main LRCSUB, Shout mics to stage and FOH with a the spare channels being used as Coms.

The FOH rack with have a matrix mixer for mine and the guests the FOH desks feeding the returns to stage. With the same above shout mics and Coms all on one edac.

The idea being i can hand guest engineers an Edac to XLR fan, some xlrs to connect his desk to the matrix, then give them the FOH end of the multi core with Edac when its there turn to play. Swap the channels on the matrix mixer then away you go they have control. It will mean there is very little dead air if non and everything is on edac for quick changes. even if i do have to make a lot of Edac fans.

The whole system is in three cases and should make life super simple with all those lovely edac. I have considered that all of this may be rendered pointless with digital cat5 connects but its what the current demand is for.

If this sounds nuts then pardon me i find it hard to explain my ideas and projects.

My rig pails in comparison, but I wanted to show off...

This rack is an outboard rack for me to use at live shows (hence the Behringer gear ). What I wanted was a simple way to connect the inserts on the console to the outboard gear. I hate those Y cables (the ones that split the tip and ring) and they always seem to have problems. So I built a panel on the back that will allow me to simply run a TRS cable from the console channel strip insert to what ever outboard comp I want. Then from the panel mount TRS jack in goes to 2 TRS connectors, one wired to the tip and the other to the ring to facilitate switching for some consoles that use a different send/receive TRS wiring.

I hope that made sense...

I'm not done so only the comps are wired in right now, but I plan on finishing the rest in the near future. I also don't have a picture of the 80 or so feet of TRS cables that I made for this.
