Here's a clip from Saturday night's job with the Franklin Road Academy Senior High Jazz Ensemble. Mics position was dictated by the room (900-seat classic horn-shaped theater with balcony, all cement block) and were Gefell M296 omnis in a 40cm spread out 10' from the solo positions; spots on piano (Beta 87A) and vocal (Rode NT1 with a foam sock). The solo mic was panned to her position in the stereo spread (slightly left of center) as was the piano spot (hard house left). 10-minute soundcheck, and I was mixing for house PA as well. Comments and criticisms welcomed...
