Talking Please recommend a small mobile PA system under $2000.00

One of my customers wants to play some gigs in bars and small clubs thus he needs something to amplify his music for around 50 persons. Can anyone recommend a small PA (amp + speakers) < 2000$?

JBL Eons are user friendly and very durable. Definitely worth a look.

I've just got a list with speakers he considers to buy:

RCF ART 310 A
Mackie SRM 450 V2
Yamaha MSR 400
JBL EON 510
JBL EON 515
dB Flexsys F12

Is there anything to add / remove? I'm totaly clueless when it comes to live audio engineering

@NorseHorse: thanks, I will forward your recommendation.

He's playing movie scores on some oldschool keyboard, all manualy, no auto accompainment, sequencer or whatever. Said so, it's mainly piano, synth strings, synth horns, synth double bass and so on, all comming from one epiano. I know he wants something that can reproduce the lowest octaves well as the movie scores need these to develop their full emotions.

He's moderating a lot too and sings in two or three of the songs.

Any of those will work... I'd add only to be wary of the db technologies stuff... my experience has been less than stellar. I'm also not a fan of the horn in the Yamaha stuff... but EONs and Mackie 450s (both originally OEM'd by the good folks at RCF) are quite useable.

I will say, however, RCF are the best plastic speaker-on-stick I've ever used. I'd step up to the ART 322A to get the fuller sound of the 12"... and with the 2" horn driver, you'll never need "more speaker" for clubs work. Full band, they work great with a powered 18 sub, but for a nice "acoustic" vibe, they're real musical.

My $.02US.

I have a Yamaha eight channel powered mixer and a couple of Yamaha S112V speakers that I use in smaller venues for my wife's bluegrass four piece band.

Easy to carry, simple to set up and for larger rooms, we simply grab a couple 15's instead of the 12's.

I like having the ability to mix and match speakers to the room.

I think the EVs and Qsc K series sound good. It would be hard to get powered speakers new for that budget though. I think you'll need 2 12in tops, a sub, and a small mixer.
Yorkville makes pretty good affordable speakers:
