Question Starting my live rack

Hi there,

I'm juste starting my live rack, as I will try to make the sound for two bands soon. I've bought, or planning to buy, this :
- 1 Delay / Reverb unit
- 1 Reverb unit
- 3 compressors/gates (stereo/ dual mono)
- 2 31 bands graphical EQs

I got different questions :
- Do you think this is too much to start with ?
- Do you think something will be missing in some cases ?
- Do you think there is an interest to buy the 2 graphical EQs (one for FOH, to control room sound, one for some monitors, to avoid feedback), given I will either use those in very little rooms (where feedbacks is maybe going to be quite not avoidable), or in big gig rooms where they have separated FOH and monitors consoles and certainly graphical EQs) ?

Thanks for the advice

It would be good to know a bit more information... mainly about the console you'll be using. A small digital desk (anything from the PreSonus Studio One to a Yamaha LS9 or M7CL) will give you a lot more options than your current plan. Tell us more and we can, perhaps, be of more assistance.

If you're ging to hook the selections up to a small analog desk, it's a good start. My small analog FOH rack has a Furman 1215 power conditioner; a Sabine Intelli-Q (a dual 31-band, with feedback suppression circuits, delay circuits, Hi/Lo cut filters and compression in one rack space); an Orban ParaSound two-channel parametric EQ; and four channels of 15-band EQ for wedges.

Hi,

The console is going to be the variable part, as I will always use a console given by the gig place. So I guess I will like to be able to have my rack and maybe not use it all, as "the more the better".
