Question Recording Location: What to look for and why

Hey guys,
Currently looking to recording a very basic acoustic album.
Vocals recorded on a Rode NT1A. Artist has a big voice.
And the guitar is a Cole Clark FL2AC with a big body big sound.

I'm really not sure what I'm doing. Recording through a mac with mbox2mini and Pro Tools LE. I've tested it in some sound dead environments and haven't gotten the sound I want and wondering if you guys have any suggestions for locations and what to be looking for? Hard walls? Lots of wood? Space size?

Should I look into another mic? Or preamp?

But also just want to use what I have.

Just some help would be cool guys.
Thanks heaps.

Sorry if this is in the wrong location or been asked before. Point me onwards.

I have never gotten good results in dead rooms. All of my best stuff has been done in small-medium recital halls.

This is a picture of Bloch Hall, the medium hall here at WVU. I love it.
