| Lives for gear |
So, I've never really like mixing live with the mouse or trackpad. It's OK for post since I can draw automation envelopes, but live it feels too stuttery and inexact. Lately I've almost always just recorded concerts and not mixed so much live, but this is a waste of time, I feel. When Korg launched their NanoKontrol I first thought it was interesting, but then I thought it'd be a bit flimsy and too inexact. This all changed when I actually tried it and just tried without looking to set the faders to 0 dB. The fader that I failed most with was at -0.7 dB, and after working a bit with it I feel that the 8+1-fader unit will be a nice addition to my rig. Has anyone else tried it? At 50€ it seems very nice for the money. |

I have one on order and I will report back one I get it. I am gonna be using it as part of my post production in pro tools because I am tired of having to use the mouse to make adjustments.

I got one just after they came out, using it with Reaper in a live streaming rig. The device would benefit from longer faders and 2-way communication for the buttons and such, but for $50 it really is a steal. I've used it a couple times to do envelopes for really rushed mix downs, but I don't really like it for editing/post. |
