Talking Decent Mobile Set-Up (??)

So, I've been "working" on putting together a little "mobile" rig.
I say "mobile" because it seems as if the word has different meanings to each of the members here, for the most part! So, here's a quick list of the gear I've compiled. I just want some basic opinions about the rig in general. I know there's BETTER gear out there, but there's also worser. Kind of a coze "middle" ground!

-Gator GRC-Studio-2-Go ATA Case
-MBP 13" w/4GB of RAM
-Logic Pro 9
-Presonus Firestudio Project
-Presonus Eureka (just for extra sound "sculpting" before the DAW)

I'm not looking to own any sort of rowdy-fancy outboard comps, EQs or anything like that. Just some stuff that's simple to use and gets the job done. I'm not a producer, so I'm NOT looking to get stuck in that seat. I'm NOT looking to dork out for hours on different pieces of gear. I'm only looking for a means to get sounds INTO my computer & Logic decently. NOTHING MORE.

Mics aren't even really worth putting up here, as I'm going to be getting a few Blondies/Woodies from another fellow Slut. I'll pick up a mic more for my kick drum, but that'll be pretty much it... as far as mics go.

Sorry that I'm not a "real" producer, or even extremely knowledgeable in this science... the interest is rather new to me, so there may be holes in my signal chain I'm overlooking.

Again, I stress this, simplicity is alllllllllmost everything to me since I'm NOT a producer. I'm not looking to slut myself out as the most boss mobile "recordist" in Texas, and I'm not willing to buy the gear for it, either!

Arrrgghhhh.... thanks guys
I've had this headache for the past few months now...

Most people feel you can't go wrong with a Macbook. Good choice.

I have a Presonus Digimax FS - I like it.

Personally I just use Reaper, but I'm sure Logic has its advantages.

What do you want to achieve with the rig? If its just recording over your freinds houses then I'd say its ideal. If you're looking to get paid to record gigs and such then you may find you need some more stuff.

Whats a "Woodie" mic - I believe the blondies are omni's in really small bodies right?

Make sure you don't overlook cables to connect it all together, mic stands, something to listen on (headphones/monitors), a mains extension cable - because you know you'll be just out of reach of a power socket!

Other than that I can't think of much else off the top of my head, without knowing more about what you want to do.

Don't forget to post pics when you're done!

Like I said, I'm not looking to get paid big-bucks for recording. If anything, it'd be a friend's band for $50 and a six-pack of shitty beer! That's okay, it's just a toy for me. If that works, then it works for me. Sounds solid.

In that case, I'd say its pretty adequate. What type of music? You can easily get by with minimal tracks - may even work in your favour.

What's a woodie mic... I'm intrigued!?

Cheers

A "woodie" is the same thing as the "Blondie" just put in a wood case, instead of the usual alloy. Creater's name, not mine!

I wish I could actually answer the "what type of music" question.
I play just about everything (save for aerobic metalz!) and some of
my friends' music is even harder to place. I was more wondering if that
set-up would get SOLID sound into my DAW, most of all.

Glad it seems solid, plus, that Gator case to lug it all around in will make life
f*cking awesome!

CHEERS!
