The easiest way is to DIY. There are any number of 12VDC/32Ah lead-acid gel cells that fit into a small Pelican case. Wire the positive terminal to pin4 of a D4F XLR mounted in the Pelican and the negative terminal to pin1 of the XLR. You can buy these redi-made but they are easy to build.

I personally use 6 gauge stranded wire for the interconnect, but my friends tell me this is way overbuilding. I do know that small gauge wire is death in a 12VDC powering system. The XLR connectors are only used in my rig at the very end box, just before they break out to the gear. I use 50A Anderson Power everywhere else.

Lithium cells are next but they cost $500 each in capacity that I need.

It's about the current. Low power devices is different from power amps driving 2ohm speakers at +100dB SPL. :-)

I've had good luck getting SLA's from 12 Volt Sealed Lead Acid Batteries - BatteryMart.com.

There are many sources, you can just search for "SLA Batteries", that's how I found Battery Mart.

I just solder #18 lamp cord to the tabs on the battery, and solder the other end to a Neutrik 4-Pin Female.

FWIW,

hi tourtelot,
i dont suppose you have a picture of your batery setup just so i know what im looking at.
the battery/power supply side of things is a little over my head. ive been told that things need to be the right ampage and regulated.
i was also told i could just buy a car battery (12v 52ah) and build my own peli case battery by just putting a 5amp fuse between the battery and xlr connecion on the case.
im not very good with electrics... how do i know which battery will last longest between charges?

Do you have a friend that could help you out with the soldering, along with a lesson? He could probably answer you other questions as well. As far as the battery life, look at the "amp-hour" spec.
