Exclamation HD24 rental in Hamburg?

Hi Chaps and chapettes... a little question for you.

I am in hamburg late this week doing FOH and need to record the show. To avoid baggage charges I was thinking about maybe renting something locally. It's 20 inputs max plus ambience, so 24 tracks would suffice. Does anyone know where I could possibly rent a single HD24 and a 24 way jack (TRS) loom in hamburg? They have post gain direct outs on the house desk, so I have no need of extra Mic pres and I know I should have a back up but there is zero budget on this so I have to fly by the seat of my pants on this one.

My other issue is this... If I can rent one....I fly out again first thing in the morning so would not have a chance to transfer the audio from the HD24 t a drive to take away...Is there anyone who could do the transfer for me (for a fee of course) and upload to one of my FTPs? or is it common practice when renting HD24s to buy and take the IDE drive?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

yours

joe

I can help on the 2nd part of that. I would buy an IDE drive and take it with you, and get the tracks transferred at your leisure. If you aretalking a couple hour show a 40 gig drive would be enough. I think a 160 gig drive will get you about 12 hours using 48Khz and 24 tracks. I live in the USA, but I am sure any number of us here could help with the transfer of files. The Alesis files are proprietary so they do need to be converted to .wav file via a fireport or a USB dock using HD24 tools. I have nvere rented an HD24, but make sure you get the caddy for the drive as well.
