Talking Location installation insurance

I've been doing small pa system installations for a while and it's about time I get some insurance. Basic Liability like if a speaker falls off a wall or something is pretty much all i'll need.

Anybody know where to go for this??

thanks in advance
kris

A quick search in this forum will turn up several great threads. Also, check out the tags at the top of this page. Lots of good reading on the subject of insurance.

$5 million professional liability is a minimum. Any commercial business insurer can write it for you. I'm surprised clients have not yet demanded a Certificate of Insurance before they hired you. (no sarcasm...)

You need both "Public Liability Insurance" and "Professional Indemnity Insurance" to cover this.

Where you go depends on what country you are in.

None of those threads really address what I'm looking for.

I dont have a "location" or employees , this isnt for any gear( I already have that).
I have a "day" job that covers my medical.
It's simply to cover my ass when I go out to a church or bar etc and run some wires and mount some speakers on the wall. That's about as big as i've been getting into.

In a worse case scenario a speaker falls off the wall breaks the wall, bonks the organ player in the head etc" That is what I'm looking to insure myself against. Property or personal damage at the install site.

I have a lead on a place locally but if anyone has a similar situation and knows of a good deal please pass it along.

thanks for the ideas.

It might help to know where "locally" is... (factual statement)

When I clicked on the insurance tag I got quite a few threads.

Perhaps you can extrapolate a few ideas and leads from them.

Good luck!
