I thought I'd dust off this thread with an SM7b question. Shure ships it in a cardboard box. What do you store your SM7 in?

Mine came in a steel case. Hmmmm.... I would store it in a large ziploc baggie in a foam rubber cutout. Be careful, the windscreen will deteriorate over time. A silica gel pack in the baggie will help. Danny |

I have a decently sized 'pistol' case that had preforations in the foam.... all's I had to do was cut/remove the foam to fit each mic and VOILA! Gotta say, it works like a charm.

| CaseCAD Custom Foam Inserts for Hard-sided Carrying Cases - if you're in the US or Canada. Found this on German tonthemen.de Forum.

If you have a harbor Freight store close by, they have a decent foam pluck and pull case also. I've used these for a few years and they stand up well. Our local store has coupons all the time so you can grab these for $15 or so if you keep an eye out for their specials. The last one I picked up has 4 LD mics and 8 SD mics safely stored and I pack in two tascam DR-680's on top. http://www.harborfreight.com/18-inch...ase-39196.html |

SKB 16 hole mic case, like the PA guys use. The expensive mics in their own cases mostly in the open section w/ the shockmounts. This has worked out very well for me--compact and fast. Not enough room for the SM7 though--that has to go in its own box. Philip Perkins |

I just got a trunk to keep cables and stuff in, and the company that makes the big trunk also makes smaller trunks that fit in the big ones. I picked one of those up and just put the cases that came with the mics in it. The only things not in a hard case are the 57s, and I am not worried about those at all.
