Talking MADI sample rate converter

MADI.SRC
SPLIT.CONVERTER

Very interesting..

Also very interesting: it's exactly the same product as "coming soon" products by direct out technologies..

MADI.SRC
SPLIT.CONVERTER

Please tell me that Direct Out's "Split Converter" is already shipping? I thought a few people had already received one?

I could really do with one or two of them this summer. Maybe I should get my order in now!

I heard about the SRC - that would be pretty useful, if it actually comes to market. Maybe sticking the Lawo livery on them will help... Might be a good sign.

I received an email from them saying
"Concerning the products offered by Lawo I can say that all devices are manufactured by DirectOut. While the SPLIT.CONVERTER has just a different front plate, the Lawo MADI.SRC offers a slightly different feature set. The Lawo version is equipped with two optical ports instead of optical and BNC and also provides a special mode for bidirectional (48/16 channels) samplerate processing."

So the direct out seems more interesting for us.. Take a digico bnc feed and feed SRC optical into lawo or studer (with everyone running from their own clock)... I will contact local distributor to find out anout price and availibility!

Huub,
We have 2 of the split combiners and 2 of the 4x4's. THey work exactly as described.
We also asked Stephan to make us an all optical version of both and they work exactly as advertised.
It allows us to take 48 channels of 96k and monitor it in our Sony R100 console via madi at 44 or 48k. (If our R100 did 64 channels, we'd be able to do that as well).
There's really not much to say about these products except that they work.

All the best,
-mark
