To echo the KD Lang thread, anyone catch this (maturing) Montreal Jazz prodigy doing the Canadian anthem ? There was a lot of negative feedback about her over-embellishing the melody and the arrangement being too complex (time and key sig changes), but I think it was great ... why ? It challenged the listener for a change. Why does every approach have to be dumbed down and predictable ? I like bold, aspiring musical efforts which try to expand and grow the inner ears of the masses. Also, her tone, one without vibrato, is as clear, clean and accurate as can be. Someone please tell me they didn't notice any artificial sonic enhancements (if this is indeed the case).

I thought she blew away the new rendition of "We Are the World" which I found to be a dissapointing reflection of today's pop music.

| And that rendition is suppose to help raise money ? as I said the UK version was great and I thought I would give the US a chance but it is plain out horrible....so bad its insane, I hope I never hear it again anywhere. Even full of F-ing Autotune.
