I have been getting into more and more location recording and it is now time for me to make the jump from mixing on my 7506s to a pair of decent monitors. I am just beginning my monitor search so any suggestions of monitors or good resources are welcome but I am curious to know how you guys setup you monitors when you get on location. I know that at the majority of the places I will be the acoustics will be unpredictable so how do you guys deal with the wide variety of monitoring situations that you are put in. Do you guys have a standard way of getting you monitors adjusted and positioned properly no matter what situation you are put in? Do you every do any minor acoustic treatment (sound blankets/portable walls) at the location?
