Here's a binaural recording I made today. Listen to it on nice headphones if you can. I would be interested to get descriptions from people as to where they think the path of the plane was. I have two version one is the 320 kbps mp3 below. Here's the full 24/48 wave file if you want that: Plane Landing Binaural.wav P.S. I recorded this in a rather strange location. I was in the country but it's sort of this borderline area not too far from the city. Thus there is this kind of strange background rumble that I could hear when I was there making the recording. It almost sounds like a constant jet engine running in the background. You can hear it in the recording so I thought that I would explain that part although I'm really unsure of the exact cause of the sound.

Front left to rear right? Great water laps, btw! Very gentle.

Strange. The water seems echo-ish, and the birds don't seem to notice the overhead airplane....? Did you layer this stuff? tutt Anyway, the plane - on a first listen, I'd say rear left to front right, but on a second listen, front left - rear right.

Thread Starter | Hello, no this is just one recording made in real time, no layering of tracks.

Ok, there's 5,000. Back to hiatus mode. ![]() Edit: The path of the plane was coming from the left then flew almost over my head but slightly behind me then flew to the right maybe as it flew away lining itself more direct with my right ear. I made this recording holding two very small and accurate omni mics right near both of my ears as I sat on the ground facing the creek. |

It's way cool--very cinematic, like the beginning of a radio play etc--much portent. Great mix! Philip Perkins |

The plane appears somewhere - rear - then goes to the far left.
