Talking Anyone from EMI Classics here or worked on this disc??

YouTube - Alison Balsom - Bach works for Trumpet

As a trumpeter I have been listening to this disc as a classical sound concept for a while. I love the Trumpet and Organ combo and am trying to get a few things together to do some recording myself. Not nearly as good as this though.

Looks like they used an R84 and a U87AI MT? I was trying to see what they used for organ, but no dice.

Love the sound overall on the album. Can't wait for her Italian Concertos album due out this month.

I do not see a U87-- only the ribbon. The device on the opposite side from the ribbon I do not recognize as a microphone.

For organ probably Schoeps or DPAs-- who produced and engineered? This could give a clue. Do you know the location?

Yeah, there's definitely a black TLM-170 on her as well as the ribbon, you can see the side clamp and the pattern selector on the back of it right near the end of the video on her last note, at 4:43.

You can see a very tall single stand for the organ, which is maybe holding a pair of omnis, or maybe not. There are no visual clues to those.

David beat me to it-- yes, it is a TLM170. Two mics, you are wondering? Might be there to use one or the other depending on which trumpet she chose, or might be used together (but not equally loudly for phasing reasons) to give maximum choice in the mix.
