Question Health Insurance Recommendations for Remotesters

I thought for sure we already had a thread about this, but I couldn't find one. That said, I need to purchase health insurance in the next few months and would appreciate any recommendations you might have.

Do you pay for insurance as an individual?
Do you have insurance through your local Chamber of Commerce?
Or perhaps though a professional association?

Any leads and links are welcome, and I figure this is a good thread to have around anyway. Here's a related thread: what do engineers do for health insurance??, but I'd prefer to hear from Remote Engineers.

One option available in some states is Tonik---It's a variant of blue cross/blue shield.

Didn't look TOO deeply but when I was shopping it was a lot cheaper than anything else I found.

Lightbulb

Check out the Freelancers Union Website.
They have all sorts of policies for you to review and choose.

It maybe exactly what you're looking for.

A lot of folks I know use them and like their policies very much.
