Sure, why not? Put all faders up, make a nice balance with the important instruments (piano, drums, lead guitar, vox), and enjoy the party. It's the big final, everyone is happy and frenzied, and the artists give away a great show. No one will care about your compressor settings, perfect eq's, etcetera anymore. I'd be glad to do such a gig!

constantly changing dynamics? It's called music (at least so I was told).
Being a little excited is ok but if you are afraid, this type of job is probably not for you.

I didn't click the link, but I have found that working with amateur local bands is far more stressful than mixing musicians of this caliber and professionalism.

That's what my girlfriend says when she sees an average mixing desk. You get used to that kind of circumstances the more you work with them.

No kidding. The better the performer, the more of the heavy lifting they do. Relative to most crappy bar gigs, this was probably a walk in the park. Even I could have made this sound good.

Ehhh... just a jam session... In the scheme of live gigs, I've seen far worse. I'd love to have a shot at something like this. With this quality of playing, you wouldn't need to do much.

It's only daunting if you haven't done something like this before. In the end, it is no worse than mixing any other quality band.

Sure, just thought it may be a little more uncomfortable dealing with such quick changes in levels and dynamics and stuff.

Just the mere presence of these iconic images with some noise is all you need. If nobody knew who they were they'd suck.

If Bob Dylan or Willy Nelson played in front of people who'd never heard of them before they'd be boo'd off the stage. It's not about the music, the mix and all that. Legends have earned the right to suck.

The job is to mix it. Doesn't matter who it is. Treat every job the same, with the utmost care and respect for the music and the artist, and you find yourself mixing stars- at least I did, and I know several other people who have had the same experience.

I have been FOH when some superstar brings up three or four others- it can be quite exhilarating.

Doesn't matter if you're mixing some high school band- they might turn into the next Green Day or Sum41. For both us and them, it's how we handle ourselves every day and how we mature in our businesses that people will measure us by- those, and "our last gig" which you're only ever as good as.
